UK Konkans summer picnic 2025

UK Konkan’s organised a enjoyable picnic on 5th July 2025 at the Bedfont lakes country park bringing the Konkani speaking community and friends together.
It was a lovely day with fresh weather, a welcome respite from the heatwave of the past weeks.
The UK konkans team were well prepared for the days with a good mix of music , games and sports activities .

Kevin Madtha , the President of UK Konkan welcomed the guests and started the picnic with the traditional dodgeball game. The UK Konkan’s team welcomed new guest to the event .

Sylvester and Anil conducted the grabbing the strap tails , lemon and spoon and other games for children .

The teenagers and the young at heart enjoyed a game of cricket and volleyball .

Delicious food was served by volunteers followed by sumptuous fruit platters. Big thanks for all the participants who shared food and drinks at this community event.

The hitting the Matka with blindfold was fun with precision skills were put to test.

The highlight event of the day was ‘Tug of War’. for Men and Women. It was found women were more competitive than men in showing their muscle power.

Sincere thanks goes to all the volunteers to worked hard to cater to every detail. A big thanks to all those who came for the picnic and we enjoyed as one big family .

All in all it was an eventful yet relaxed picnic and with happy memories of a wonderful time together.
